Job Description

Job Responsibilities:

 

  • Merchandising of products to stimulate increased sales
  • Advertising of products (within and out of store)
  • Purchasing of stock
  • Stock control including stock levels etc.
  • Introduction of new products and ranges
  • Cash control i.e. cash-up receipts and processing
  • Security of the sales area
  • Budgeting and targets for sales and expenses
  • Promotions within the sales area and externally
  • On the job training of staff
  • Maintenance and measurement of service and staff
  • Introduction of sales procedures and maintenance thereof
  • Marketing Intelligence and pricing, pricing structures, price lists and discount structures
  • Control of delivery vehicle
  • Perform sales related administration functions
  • Achievement of sales, GP and expense budgets and report on all these

 

Job Requirements:

 

  • Grade 12 or equivalent NQF level 4 qualification
  • Marketing diploma/ qualification advantageous
  • Valid Code B driver’s licence
  • Three years sales management experience in a the steel industry
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers and deliver excellent customer service
  • Must be presentable, professional and an excellent communicator

  • Market related basic salary per month subject to skills and qualifications

General:

 

  • Working hours are 07:30 – 17:00 Mondays to Fridays and every alternative Saturday from 08:00 – 13:00 in accordance with a roster system
  • Overtime required from time to time
